To Whom this concerns

As promised, a little lesson in who & whom.


Try substituting “he” or “she” and “him” or “her.” If “he” or “she” fits, you should use who. If “him” or “her” fits, you should use whom. Keep in mind that you may have to temporarily rearrange the sentence a bit while you test it, or answer the question the sentence is posing. 

Who would like to go on this week's field trip?
Who made these awesome tacos in Home-ec?

To whom was the letter home addressed?

Whom do you believe?
